This mini cauldron is made from cast iron. Its measurements are as follows: From the top of the handle to bottom of the legs it measures 4 inches. The cauldron body measures: 3 inches. It does have a removal lid. This size of a cauldron makes a wonderful piece for your alter. It can be used to burn sage, incense or even candles. To burn incense or candles I would recommend filling it half full of sand or kitty litter. While supplies last, I am going to include a package of White Sage for free. White Sage is used for smudging and cleansing your space of negative energy. This little cauldron would be perfect for that because of the handle. Light some white sage in the cauldron and walk through your house just lightly waving the smoke around to rid the area of negative energy. I have always been taught that white sage is the warrior and drives all unclean energy away.
Now what does a cauldron represent you ask?
The cauldron is a symbol of the womb of the Goddess and rebirth. Water can be placed in a cauldron for scrying, or ingredients can be added for spells and incantations. Now this cauldron is most likely too small to use for scrying, but would be great to use for spells and incantations. In some cultures the cauldron is associated with the Crone Cerridwen.
The cauldron with three legs usually references the Triple Goddess, each leg representing the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. It can also represent the three stages of life: Life, Death and Rebirth or Birth, Life and Death however you choose to view it.
